How We Handle Your Data
At Parsaa, we understand that your code is your most valuable asset. Here's exactly how we protect it.
Your Code Never Leaves Your Mac
We do not store your source code on our servers. Period.
When you use Parsaa's AI features:
You request AI assistance (Command+L, Command+K, autocomplete, etc.)
Your prompt and selected code context are sent to our API at api.parsaa.app
Our server routes the request to the AI provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google)
The AI generates a response
The response is sent back to you
All data is immediately deleted from our servers
We do not store logs. We do not keep copies. We do not build datasets from your requests.
What We Collect
We Collect
- Analytics - Which features you use, how often, crash logs
- Account Information - Email, name, billing details
- Technical Data - macOS version, Xcode version, device ID for licensing
We DO NOT Collect
- Your source code (except temporary processing for AI responses)
- Your chat history (stored locally on your Mac only)
- Keystrokes or screen recordings
- Files outside of Xcode
- Your browsing history
- API keys, passwords, or credentials
AI Provider Guarantees
We use multiple AI providers to power Parsaa's features. All providers are configured with zero data retention and no model training.
OpenAI
GPT-4, o1, o3-mini models
Zero - opted out via Enterprise API agreement
Your code is NOT used to train models
United States
Anthropic
Claude 3.5 Sonnet, Claude 4 models
Zero - opted out via Enterprise API agreement
Your code is NOT used to train models
United States
Gemini Pro models
Zero - enterprise no-retention mode
Your code is NOT used to train models
United States (Google Cloud)
All requests sent to these services are opted out of model training. None of your data is stored on their servers.
Codebase Embeddings & Search
To enable semantic codebase search (Command+P), Parsaa creates vector embeddings of your code.
How it works:
Parsaa reads your Xcode project files
Code is sent to our embedding provider: VoyageAI / OpenAI Embeddings
Vector embeddings are generated
Embeddings are stored LOCALLY on your Mac at: ~/Library/Application Support/Parsaa/Embeddings/
Privacy protections:
- Code sent to embedding provider is immediately deleted after processing
- Embedding provider has opted out of data collection
- Your actual source code is NOT in the embeddings (only vector representations)
- Embeddings never leave your Mac
You control this:
- Disable codebase indexing in Settings
- Choose which projects to index
- Delete all embeddings at any time
Chat History Storage
All your chat conversations with the AI are stored locally on your Mac.
Storage location:
~/Library/Application Support/Parsaa/What this means:
- We do not have access to your chat history
- Chats are never uploaded to our servers
- You have complete control over deletion
- Your conversations remain private
Our Commitment: No Training on Your Code
We have explicitly opted out of all data collection and model training programs with our AI providers.
If we ever decide to collect data for training purposes in the future:
We will create an explicit opt-in mechanism
You will be presented with a clear choice
Existing users will be opted-out by default
We will clearly explain what data would be collected and how it would be used
You can change your preference at any time
Currently, we do not collect any data for training purposes.
Analytics & Monitoring
To improve Parsaa and fix bugs, we use minimal analytics:
PostHog (Analytics)
Which features you use (Command+L, Command+K, etc.), when you use them
The content of your prompts, your code, or what you typed
Understand product usage to improve features
Available in Settings
Sentry (Error Tracking)
Crash reports, error logs, stack traces, performance metrics
Your source code (filtered out of error logs)
Detect and fix bugs
