Do I need to know Swift to use Parsaa?

It helps, but it is not required to get value. You describe the outcome in your own words; Parsaa writes the Swift, explains what it is doing, and shows every change as a diff before it lands. Experienced developers get the same loop with full control over conventions and architecture.

How is Parsaa different from Cursor or Copilot?

Those tools live in a code editor and were built for web stacks. Parsaa is a Mac app built around Xcode: it reads your open project, drives xcodebuild and the simulator, runs your tests, and verifies its own work on real builds. You keep Xcode exactly as it is.

Can Parsaa actually build and run my app, or just write code?

It runs the whole loop. Parsaa compiles your app, runs your tests (down to a single test), boots the simulator, installs and launches the build, reads the logs, and screenshots the running UI right back into the chat. Paste a SwiftUI view and it launches a live preview on the spot. When a test fails, it fixes the code and runs again — done means passing.

Can I use my own AI models?

Yes. Start with zero-setup Parsaa Cloud, bring your own keys (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, or OpenRouter’s 400+ models), or run fully local with Ollama or LM Studio. With your own keys, requests go provider-direct; with local models the full agent loop runs with no internet at all. You can switch models per conversation.

Can Parsaa change code without my approval?

No. Every edit arrives as an approval card with a diff. You approve, reject, or request changes, and the agent waits. Plans work the same way: Parsaa proposes the steps before touching anything.

Does my code leave my machine?

Accepted Answer

Only if you choose a cloud model. With your own API keys, requests go provider-direct and never touch Parsaa servers. With local models (Ollama, LM Studio) or Apple on-device, nothing leaves your Mac. Parsaa never stores or trains on your code.

What exactly is a credit?

A credit is the unit Parsaa uses to meter hosted model usage, about 2¢ of work. One credit covers about one typical agent message; heavier tasks consume more. Your remaining balance and per-message cost are always visible in the app, and you start with 150 free.

What happens when my free credits run out?

Accepted Answer

Nothing breaks. Your project and history stay put; you just can’t run new hosted-model tasks until you pick a plan, connect your own API keys, or point Parsaa at a local model. No card is ever charged automatically.

Question 9

Does Parsaa work with my version of Xcode?

Accepted Answer

Parsaa works with Xcode 16 and later on macOS 26+, including Xcode 27. It tracks every Apple release and is already updated for WWDC26 APIs. Deep integration with Xcode’s built-in MCP server requires Xcode 26.3 or later, but building, testing, and running work with any supported version.

Yes, with local models. Point Parsaa at Ollama or LM Studio and the full agent loop (chat, edits, builds, tests) runs without an internet connection.
